Washington DC Trip

We went on a trip to Washington DC last weekend. Jesse's parents and gradparents met us there. We have never been here and LOVED it. Pictures definintly don't give it justice, just the feeling when you are there is so amazing. We walked a lot. There was so much to see in so little time. This is in front of lincoln memorial.

This is at the capitol. It was HUGE and so beautiful. It was so hot that day and we regreted wearing pants, but that's all we had room for on our carry-on's. (however that is spelled)! It is so green there. I'm obsessed with tree's, they make everything 100 x's more pretty!
This is in front of Ford's theatre were Pres. Lincoln was shot. This was one of our favorite places. We saw a play at the theater explaining all the events that happened that day he was killed. We learned so much and were so intrigued. Across the street is the house he died in. It is really tiny and old!

I forget what this memorial is for, but it was really cool and had all the states around it. It was right in front of the reflection pool, which of course we had to quote Forest Gump!

It poured on us this afternoon! Thank goodness for mom's though, they are ALWAYS prepared!
This was the last place that we went Saturday. This is the Vietnam memorial. It opened our eyes to how many lives were taken in the service of there country. This is one of maybe 50 panels. It's a very emotional experience. We looked for a name that his grandparents new and never found it.

We toured Arlington cemetary Sunday before we went home. It's amazing how beautiful a graveyard can be. It's neat to see the uniformity. We were also able to see the tomb of the unknown soldier and the changing of the post. This picture is funny to me because me and Jesse are smiling and the rest of them are serious, showing reverance! They have guard there making sure people are being quiet and respectful! Well, that's the trip. Thanks Beth, Cody, Grandma, and Grandpa for spending time with us, and taking the crappy bed. We had a lot of fun!
