August 2019

August was full of fun surprises when our sweet niece Aria came three weeks early. She is a beautiful bundle of joy and we are so happy for Brandi and Aaron.

The Piute County fair has become a yearly tradition. However, this is the first year that our kids ROCKED it. They rode sheep like nobody's business. Tess took 2nd place and rode the sheep all the way down to the pen. I'm so proud of them and also kind of jealous.

Maverik had quite the load of dirt in his ear after. I'm not quite she he loved it but he didn't cry.
This was quite the fun day. Memories forever. We took the kids and the kayak and the fishing boat to Otter Creek and a clear beautiful day. Lexi was out quite a ways from us on the kayak when a huge storm hit. Waves, torrential downpour the whole works. The kids were all screaming and crying. It was freezing! I was so proud of Lexi. She was scared but didn't just freeze and she paddled her little hiney over to us where we all tried to get back to shore. We had seats over the kids heads trying to keep them dry and warm. That was not the most fun but I also couldn't help but laugh at the not funness of the situation. Before the rainstorm Bodee caught a great looking fish. We tried to have Maverik touch it but he is terrified of fish. He was freaking out and crying when it got close to him. Hilarious!
They were worn out from the experience.
This was another one of those awesome moments. First of all I love my kids and their adorable cousins and I met some guy years ago at the Piute Rodeo who wanted to buy a house. Well years later he was there again and happened to have his own plane from California. A really nice one. He asked Jesse to go up and fly with him and Jesse was able to check off one of his bucket list items of flying into the junction airport. He had a blast buzzing the parade and the kids were ecstatic to see him doing it.
Another awesome moment of the day was Tyler and Jesse winning a corn hole tournament with many people signed up. It was a nail biter but they came out victorious. He got a set of corn hole board to keep. He really is good at everything.
Here's another memory that will not be forgotten in this household. While Jesse and I were laying pavers this summer we tried to entertain the kids and told Lexi to take them on a walk on the trails. She took some cute pictures, dealt with a whinny Maverik and sent us a pretty funny text message. It said, "What do you do when you see a train train chilla?" "Oh I know jump over it." We were so confused until the picture of a tarantula came through and then we laughed and laughed. We still laugh about it all the time!
Jesse was one of the coaches for the boys this year and they loved it. I have three very good looking boys. I have so appreciated the time Jesse has put into learning about soccer and spending time with the kids.
SCHOOL TIME
4th and 2nd Grade for these cuties. They are growing up so fast and weren't even scared for school.
Tess decided to not do dance for the year and try something new. I was so reluctant to have Tess do soccer because she just didn't seem like a sporty girl but she continues to surprise me. She was a little scary at the beginning but ended up doing amazing and having so much fun. Her team was undefeated this year.
These boys have made some good friends from soccer. We like our soccer family  a lot.
This boy had his first week of Kindergarten a week after the girls started. He is loving going to school and is doing fantastically! He has Mrs. Guiness. All of my kids have had her so far. She is fantastic.
He just likes to have his picture taken.
Our Labor Day Lake Powell trip was a fun sort of successful trip. Beth and Cody rented a boat from a guy in Salt Lake. Jesse and I pulled it down for them. The first day we were on the lake it broke down. Haha we couldn't go fast or far ever. So that was kind of a bummer but we made the best of it. The night before we left we all got some weird super quick acting flu. We took turns throwing up and of coarse me the other end seriously every 30 minutes. It was horrible to say the least.
We need to get together with Josh, Lindsey and Lola more often but we sure love hanging with them when we can!
