Mini Trip

We didn't have work on Friday or Monday of last week, so we decided to take a 4 day weekend up the coast. We'd heard great things about Charelston, South Carolina and Savannah, Georgia. We LOVED Charelston. The houses are so beautiful and old. The people are friendly and it was gorgeous weather. It's fun to be in a place with so much history. We drove 6 hours to Charelston. Lexi was an angel. She slept and played with her toys the whole way. When we got there, we took a ferry to Fort Sumter where the first shot was fired in the civil war. It was a cold boat ride, but it was really neat to see the old fort still standing. The next day we went to see Boone Hall Plantation. Hundreds of acres of beautiful scenery and a huge house. They filmed part of The Notebook at this house. Some of the old slave quarters are still in tact. We then went to downtown Charelston and ate great food and walked a lot. It was fun to be together as a family out of the house.

George Washington attended this beautiful church

Love the look of these cobblestone roads, but pushing a stroller on them is tough

Mine & Jesse's new house....in 5 years! Actually Boone Hall Plantation.

Lexi not loving her stroller...SO spoiled thanks to her dad.

After 2 days in Charleston, we went to Savannah for a day. It was rainy and cold and we all had bad colds so we went on a horse ride and tried to get better in the hotel that night. It didn't work, but it was still fun! We went to Jekyll island on Monday and drove a red bug around. Like a faster golf cart. Thanks to Jesse's friend Jim and his kind cousin. You're the best! It was beautiful.
Lexi HATES being on her tummy, she'd always end up eating the carpet. I would put her through moments of anguish so her neck would get strong. It worked!! She's strong and happy, making mommy so proud!

Question: How many different bows does Lexi-Lou need for a 4 day vacation?
Answer: 12. A different one for breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day. Actually... make that 16 bows because I'm sure she sleeps in one too!!!

Love you, Babe! =) Oh, and good news - for the first time in these pictures I saw a little bit of you in Lexi!!!

I'm sorry you three weren't feeling so well for most of it but it seems like you enjoyed yourselves anyway!
Old houses are the best huh? I could drive around looking at them all day long. And Civil War stuff is always neat. How fun for you guys!
