Happy 2nd Birthday Maverik
It is really, really hard not to get wrapped around this little guys finger. Holy cow he is cute. He knows how to get anyone and everyone to love him. At two he speaks very well. He uses mostly one words but occasionally can do two. He enunciates unusually well for his age. He is OBSESSED with crochet blankets, calls them his baby and carries them around everywhere. He is 24.8 pounds which puts him at 8% and 2'10" at 50% with his head at 19" and 40%. He is a skinny little guy, just like Tess! He always wants to be naked and strips all the way nude every chance he gets but has yet to use the potty yet, which would be the only reason that I would be ok with his nudity! He loves baseball and does pretty well at it. He loves, cars, trains, and is barely starting to sit for a short show. He adores his siblings and they think he is pretty amazing too. He goes well into nursery and sleeps well at night, unfortunately its with Jesse and I and we are pretty over it! He is the perfect addition and completion to our family.
Currant Creek Camping Trip
Introducing our new line of toys. Our trailer and drift boat make quite the double hitch team. I don't know how Jesse drives this bus, but it sure has been a fun addition to our summer. This was our first of 3 camping trips in 1 month. we had a BLAST, except the trailer was new and we didn't know how to work it so nothing worked and it was more of a glorified tent! The boat was super fun and the kids sure loved eating on the boat. We camped next to a bumpy trail that the kids were constantly riding their bikes on and having so much fun. We saw deer and fish and ate a lot of food since we had to begin a rather difficult journey when we returned. Lexi started brain balance and we had to change our diets to no sugar, dairy or gluten for three months. AHHH. Literally the hardest thing ever. I wanted to just give up and not do it, but the program is a lot of money and we were so anxious to see Lexi succeed in school that we somehow are figuring it out.
I love these kids and there desire to always be doing something even if it is hard. I love Bodee in the background controlling the motor and the kids doing the paddles!! HAHA
Again, Maverik was a monster and couldn't hold still on the boat!
FISH LAKE
What a fun camping trip and maybe one of my favorite spots ever. It was absolutely beautiful, great weather, great spot and the WHOLE ALLEN FAMILY was able to be there. Zack had just got home from his mission and still had his fun African accent. My kids acted like he'd never gone. They warmed up to him so quickly and he has changed into such an amazing man. I love this picture of these awesome Allen boys and Kassidy! I'm sure Jesse loves that he looks like a giant in this picture.
Pitfall of the trip was when Tess hooked herself with a huge fish hook with a barb. Talk about turning a moms stomach. She was so brave as was Jesse while he had to push the hook farther down to have it release from its hold. It was not a great moment.
PUFFER LAKE CAMPING TRIP
Lexi's first day back of sugar we decided to get icee's. It was a great day for all of us!
Look at this crazy bunch of kids. We were so lucky to have Kina's cute kids and Miles, and a couple friends from church join us on this one! These cute kids had so much fun paddling on the kayak in the lake.Uncle Zack took each of the kids on a motorcycle ride which they absolutely loved.
We went for a really short hike!
Jesse and Zack went on a very strenuous, scary mountain bike trail and loved it.
We picked wild flowers and played in patches of snow in our shorts.
We have also done 7 peaks this summer, Tess got her beautiful, backhandspring and has shown amazing talent and can't wait for school to start, Lexi started Gymnastics at Olympus and already has her pullover and cartwheel on the beam. I can't wait to see what July has in store for us.
Zack's Homecoming
These kiddos sure were excited to see Zack. It took 4-ever it seemed like for him to come out, but i cried for every sweet missionary coming out and their cute families. I can only imagine how amazing it would be to see your son after 2 long years. We are so proud of Zack and grateful for his example.
These pics were just too cute to pass up!!
