July 2017

4th of JULY
Nothing beats the heat, watermelon, fireworks, parades and rodeo's that make up my favorite holiday. Not being able to wear tank tops and shorts has put a little damper on it, but it is still a magical day.
The Western Stampede is such a fun rodeo. They had great entertainment and the family thoroughly enjoyed it!

This little boy is a cowboy want to be and spent almost the whole time in the front in between some randon strangers, glued to the action.
My mom got us some great seats, we couldn't be luckier!
Even though it's REALLY hot outside, we try to stay out as much as we can at the park, splashpad, riding bikes, camping, hiking and just plain enjoying our time without schedules and as many responsibilities.

 Lunch with friends
We went to seven peaks water park and amusement park many times this summer and it was so much fun. The kids finally love the rides, and Tess and Bodee went on some pretty big water slides by themselves. Lexi went on a really steep water slide and had a blast. These kids really do get to be so much fun the older they get. Maverik surprises me all the time and doesn't seem to be scared of just about anything which is scary at times, but it makes it so much fun.
Many cousin sleepovers were also had this summer. I feel as though I should get aunt of the year award!
These cute brothers went on an archery challenge together at Snowbird. I will always love and hate my husband and his many adventures. I love that he is fun and enjoys life to the fullest, but hate when he's away. They had so much fun hiking for miles and shooting lots and lots of targets in a beautiful place!

They ended the night with all the boys going to a Bee's game.
Don't worry the fun didn't end there....
Mountain bike rides continued in Draper.
On our next trip to Kingston we went to see some hieroglyphs and do some rabbit hunting.

July 11, 2017
Really, again. How am I always so far behind on my journal! Well recap. Kina and I have been doing kickboxing 2 times a week and its been awesome. It sure is hard to go at 5:30 AM though. She’s amazing and keeps at it. Me not so much! Jesse went to Montana with his brothers and dad in April and had a great time. They froze to death about though. I know my kids are sure looking forward to going with him one day. He apparently did very well and got lots and lots of fish. Easter was awesome. We had church at 9 which always makes easter a little difficult, but the kids still managed to find their baskets, eat lots of candy and look cute enough for pictures. We had a family easter party the day before and attempted to drop eggs via quad copter. It was pretty funny and pretty much crashed and burned but we still had an awesome party. Lexi was the only kid in my family who didn’t come apart in tears when they saw the Easter Bunny (aka Brandi).  Always love to be reminded of the savior this time of the year and teach the kids about the meaning of Easter. Bodee started up tball in April and it was the FUNNIEST thing ever. The first game he ended up throwing his glove up repeatedly and trying to catch it. At one time he was playing tag with another boy across the field, they played duck duck goose one game. It was hilarious, but all that being said he did very well. He hit well and has an awesome throw. He just doesn’t understand the running of the bases! We were able to go to Rocky Mountain Raceway and watch some races and the kids absolutely loved it. We also went to the Lantern Fest in Grantsville and had a blast. It is a spectacular site and we were so lucky to be part of it. It’s a must do for us every year. Except we got stuck in the parking lot for 2 hours! I went on a field trip with lexi and her class to wheeler farm. She went with 2 other boys who were very nice. She seems to have a little bit of a hard time keeping girl friends and it breaks my heart. She loves adults and always tends to levitate towards them and I think it hurts the relationship she has with the kids. That is one of the reasons we had her tested at brain balance for a brain imbalance and they found that her left hemisphere is weaker then the right and can cause some issues. She has really struggled with reading and math this year in school and im afraid its hurting her self confidence. So, we are on this REALLY expensive program for 3 months and cant have gluten, sugar or dairy in our diet. Saying it is difficult is an understatement. There is literally nothing to eat after you’ve eliminated those things and its so expensive. But I’m pretty sure she has no allergies to these things so at least we are lucky to not have to do it forever. Tess and Bode are in swim lessons and doing very well. Tess is swimming on her own but still gets nervous and panicks, but she is doing considerable better. We have gone camping three times in 1 month. First trip was current creek, second was fish lake and third was puffer lake. We got a pop up trailer and drift boat and have enjoyed them very much. Uncle Zack came home from his mission and it was so fun to greet him at the airport. He has really changed and become a great example for my kids. My mom got us tickets for the west Jordan rodeo for the 4th of july. Maverick loved the sheep and scram “sheep” all the time. Bodee had his cowboy hat and boots on and was engulfed in the rodeo it was so cute to see him love it that much. Anyways this is the shortened version of the last 3.5 months. These kids keep my busy busy and work and trying to be a good wife, but all in all,  I love my life and am thankful heavenly father has entrusted me with such fabulous children and family. We just turned our house plans into the architect and are excited to get started building our house next year.
