Yellowstone October 2017

We decided to go on a last minute trip to Yellowstone for fall break. Jesse starts training on the 6th of November which means we wont see him very much, so it seemed like a fun trip to go on...and it was! We were very nervous about the temperatures. There are only 2 campgrounds open this time of year and they are first come first serve. I was so afraid we'd get there without a place to stay and freeze in our pop up camper. It ended up being cold, but there were moments I couldn't believe it was so warm. There were hardly any people there. We had a lot of fun. The kids are already asking to go back.
Our hike to the lower falls ended up being a VERY long hike. The road was closed due to a pipe that broke so we added about 3 miles to an already difficult hike. Those kids were amazing. Bodee walked the entire way as well as Lexi. Maverik was a trooper about letting us carry him because he is so slow and Tess did amazing considering she was throwing up for the past 2 days.
Mammoth Hot Springs is such a cute town and always had elk there to see.
Old Faithful didn't disappoint. It's such an amazing site to see. The kids loved it and we stuck around long enough to see it a couple of times. Maverik peed his pants this day when we were 2 hours from camp. The stores had no pants for sale. We were in a predicament. So we did what all clever parents do and improvised. I took off my shirt, wore my coat the whole day and put his legs through my arm holes and tied up the neck part. HAHA it looked so funny. But it worked!
Jacksonhole we actually hit up on the way home, but I am too lazy to move all the pictures around!! It was such a warm perfect day. The kids got to pick a souvenier. Tess chose a mermaid, Lexi a cheetah thing, Bodee wanted ice cream!! (He is always eating) and well Maverik didn't care so we chose to save our money....Sorry Maverik!
They really all were angels in the car. Its a lot of driving!
This was day one of our adventure. Yes, the first picture I took Tess decided to throw up and continually threw up for the rest of the day and into the next morning. We carried her pretty much everywhere we went and she was a trooper but we weren't ready to tackle that for a second day nor put her through that again. Jesse gave her a blessing and literally minutes later she was up and running around, feeling as good as new. Another testimony to us of the power of the priesthood. Nobody else got sick on the trip!

We had about 10 Chinese people taking pictures of our family right now. My kids were so wierded out by it, but I thought it was hilarious. They just kept taking pictures and smiling at them. I don't think they've ever seen so many blonde kids. They would count them!
Pictures just don't do these things justice. They were incredible and stinky! The second picture is when Lexi dropped her shopkins into geyser territory!
The paint pots we missed seeing a grizzly bear by about 20 minutes said some other people. We saw his fresh prints. I have mixed feelings about seeing him!
