Glacier National park Summer 2018

We had a great start to our 10 hour drive. Bodee and Tess slept all the way to Butte, Montana. We left at 4 AM which wasn't the funnest for Jesse and I but at the same time, thats the only way to do it! The kids were great.
I was BLOWN away with the beauty of this place. I have a slight obsession of traveling abroad that I sometimes fail to see and appreciate all that the USA has to offer.
Seriously, waterfalls everywhere you look. Waterfalls are my favorite thing ever.
I packed enough food for the whole week and we ate pretty well. We sadly got slapped with a $80 fine the last day for having our cooler in the back of the truck. Oops. Who reads the rules anyways!
The first 2 days were freezing. Tess wore 2 coats and a sweater. My Dad got lost in Glacier when he was just a little boy and with the huge amount of bears and the freezing cold I have no idea how he survived. I hope I can learn more about that story some day.
 Animals EVERYwhere.
Our first hike was a 4 miler. It was kind of a rough hike where it was super wet, rainy, Bodee had just woken up and was winy and wanting to be held, I was a little nervous about the outcome. But seeing a lake with 5 waterfalls at the end was pretty incredible and made it worth it.

The kids explored nature and seemed to enjoy the good and the bad.
On the 3rd day the kids were ready for a break from hiking. We took a drive to let the boys sleep and saw a grizzly bear and ended up following it for awhile. We got really close to it. We ended off the day with an authentic indian pow wow at the Blackfoot Indian Reservation that we stayed at. Seriously amazing to experience it.
We also got a taste of the sun that day and we discovered Tess can't handle anything under 70 degrees or over 71 degrees.
Bodee is a trooper, Maverik is trouble and Lexi just wants to dance all the time!
This is the real deal right here. We found out only Indians can buy eagle feathers and they are very expensive. It can take years to get these outfits together.
Fireworks in front of teepees is a new one for me. It was amazing. The firework show was a grand finale the whole time. It was awesome until our front row seats got shot at with a stray firework. The kids were crying I was laughing but super grateful God protected us.
I love that the boys don't plug their ears, but the girls do without fail.
A little kayaking love for this family. Lexi and Tess were on one and rocked it, Jesse and Bodee and Maverik and me. We rowed for quite awhile and then went on a hike. Jesse took Bodee up a creek going upstream. It was really, really hard. Lexi would not give up. She tried and tried to go up, threw a fit, tried again and finally made it. She has quite the perseverance.
These crazy peeps went in the freezing cold water.

Always doing tricks along the way

 Going to the Sun Road

Our 2nd hike was about a 6 miler. The kids pooped out about mile 5 and Jesse had to run back and get the truck to pick us up. But even Maverik hiked about 2 miles. They did amazing. There were 3 waterfalls and they all decided to keep going to the 3rd waterfall and it was so worth it. Awesome trip. Love our adventures together!
