Starting some July fun was a great visit from some high school friends. Kristin came from Boston. Love her and her cute family.
Lexi was too big this year for the muttin bustin. But the other three kiddos went and rocked it. They were adorable. The videos were pretty epic. Those boys took a beating.
Oregon Coast Trip (in reverse)
Sea Lion Caves in Yacchats, Oregon was AMAZING. Stinky little guys, but we couldn't believe how many there were.
Newport, Oregon was so much fun. Our favorite little hotel and a super healthy, fish and way above our price range restaurant. We couldn't believe how much food the kids consumed. We went crabbing and caught lots and lots of crabs. Super fun and super cold.
Pretending to eat sea kelp like on Alone.
One of many gorgeous lighthousesThis spot was one that caused much debate and anger from the kids and I to Jesse, however, is now one of our most memorable moments of the trip. The tide was rising fast, it was freezing, and Jesse was determined we needed to go around the backside of proposal rock. So begrugingly, we waited for the wave to crash and then ran for the other side. We didn't make it....! The waves started crashing in on us, Bodee fell in a deep hole and got stuck and soaked. It was terrifying. Everyone was crying, I was yelling, haha hilarious now looking back. On the awesome side, we saw a LOT of starfish. It was super pretty.I cant remember what this was called, maybe graveyard but it was awesome. We thought we were so clever trying to blend in!Proposal Rock was beautiful. Again, we thought we were hilarioius!
Oregon is SO gorgeous. Its hard to describe. The kids constantly ask to go back.
A lost necklace bought as Lexi's souvenier got lost in the ocean. Did Jesse find it. You bet he did.
Many, many beautiful hikes
Gorgeous beaches that were ice cold. Not sure how my family is so brave.
We had a terrifying moment when we thought we lost Tess. My heart about failed us. We were So terrified. She had gone back to our towel area like a good girl, we had just drifted too far over. Seaside Aquarium was so much fun. A small little aquarium, but the octopus was so cool and the sea lions were hilarious. I think we spent 20 dollars in food for them. Totally worth it.
This was at the very first beach we went to. Walking up to a cloud covered beach was pretty stunning.
We found slugs and fresh berries everywhere. It really was an unforgettable vacation, even the 14 hour drive was not too shabby.
Bodee got his special double tooth out. Poor little guy.
Fighting our covid boredom.
Some cute friends and fashion shows also helped!Tess's face shows her utter annoyance with having to share the horse ride at Grandmas house.
