Kauai 2021

WE opted to take a repeat trip with Tyler and Amy's family to Kauai before Cody ends up moving back home soon. Its amazing what 3 years has done to our trip journey. Last time hiking was hard, going to the beach gave me anxiety praying no kids drown. This trip was INCREDIBLE. We went on incredibly hard hikes, ALL of the kids went off rope swings, no life jackets, no whinning, just pure magic. This was one of our first hikes there. Going in true Allen fashion we didn't leave til late, we had to kayak for at least 30 minute then go for a bit of a walk to get there. It was amazing and the water was freezing. On the way home we fought the dark til we were probably 10  minutes from the beach. Jesse threw 3 kids on the paddle board with him. It was raining hard and freezing. We are all rowing as fast as we could to not be stranded in the dark. Jesse ran into a boulder, that he couldn't see, and all but 1 kid fell in. No lifejackets. He had to worry about losing a kid in the dark in the water. Tess lost her camera and was crying. (We did find it). But as always with our adventures, the next day, it was the funnest thing ever.
                                                        Another incredibly fun hike.
This is one of our favorite beaches. Great boogie boarding, just around the corner is great snorkling and it beautiful. Zack and Kayla are going to name there new baby after it!
Queens Bath last time we went we were able to get in and swim around. This time was more of a death trap. We did however trespass and it made the hike much easier!
Another favorite beach on the North Shore. It truly is gorgeous. The kids all surfed and got up so easily. Jesse and I, not so much!
This is tunnels beach on the North Shore. This is where that girl got her arm bitten off by a shark. It is truly beautiful. I get why you'd want to surf if you can look at this beauty everyday.
We were afraid we wouldn't be able to get to turtle cave after the waves were so huge so we went back a different day and braved it. It was amazing. Our kids are all troopers and it was so much fun to be right next to the see turtles in their hide out.
This is one of our many rope swing adventures. Our family got so crazy that we actually climbed the tree swung around the tree and then let go. Even Maverik was this brave. These kids are so much fun.
Jesse and I were able to take a helicopter ride. What a RIDE. I've never seen so many waterfalls in my life and probably never will again. SO freaking gorgeous. It was so much fun. A little earie but incredible.
This place is in Hanapepe. Amazing food. Thanks to Cody and Beth for taking us out.
I loved her matching suit and board. These kids boogie boarded til there bodies were raw. And then they boogie boarded some more.
The Spouting Horn

This jump was actually pretty high into freezing water that you then had to swim downstream and rockclimb to get up. It was a blast. We could have stayed there forever.
Constantly finding dangerous things to do.

The only place I felt safe on this hike. We call it the airplane hike and it is cliff on both sides of the narrow trail. There were times I was panting with fear for mine and my children's lives. I might be a little dramatic but I REALLY don't like heights. But it is stunning.
Crabs and hiding birds.
Queens bath beauty
Kauai will be missed. I don't love to do repeat vacations but it's hard not to love this island.
