Allen Family Adventures: August 2022

Man I wish I could remember all the names of the places that we climb. The biggest thing I remember about this day was Maverik looked up in the sky and said "Look its a shooting star" we laughed him off and then a few seconds later BOOM. It shook the canyon. It was kind of scary. Later we found out it was a meteor which was pretty crazy. Climbing is Mavs thing BUT its been so much fun that its become a family thing. I have been unbelievably impressed with how well ALL of the kids have caught on and are doing amazing. Bodee is incredible but really afraid of heights. Lexi is always broken from gym but seems to always muscle through and Tess is really good at it. I wish we could get her involved too but we are just too busy. Climbing is so fun because you get to visit beautiful places and just hang out all day. I'm so happy we got involved.

We visited Gardner Village to the Farm and it was surprisingly fun. The kids loved all the baby animals.

We got to go to Midway to an insanly cool house for Maveriks club party. They had an amazing pool with a super fun climbing wall. Shammy does an amazing job at creating fun opportunities for his climbers.

Just a small reminder of how much I love living here.

Slack lining at our cabin has become a favorite of the crew. They are getting much better. Its always a fight between Jesse and Lexi who can stay on the longest and those 2 are so competitive they just keep going.

We had a summer bucket list and REAL soccer game was on that list. We had so much fun. Its cool how much more I know about the game then I used to.

Sadly, summer has to end and the new school year emerges. This year is 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 7th. Ready or not, here we go! Lexi went into 7th not really knowing many girls and was pretty scared. Tess had her best friend Andie in her class and was exctied to go. Bodee didn't know anyone in his class either but doesn't show his nerves ever. Maverik didn't know anyone either but also doesn't talk much about it so off they went!

We got a boat this summer which we don't regret AT ALL. We were worried we were buying at the high and it wasn't a good investment which it isn't BUT the experiences we've made on it so far are far greater than the funds we put into it. Can't wait to use it again this summer! Every kid can wake board and surf. Lexi and Tess can now let go of the road which is pretty amazing. Lexi can let go for a few minutes at a time. We have such a blast together and have had the opportunity to take people out who probably never get the opportunity. We feel very blessed.

Of coarse there was a lot of soccer this summer. Bodee gets hurt easily either his legs or feet or something so he occasionally gets to play goalie and its slightly scary. I am glad he is crazy fast so he doesn't have to be goalie often. He is decent but definetly belongs on the field. He also gets crazy bored.

We won a few tournaments this summer. This one was special because of the crazy fight that broke out the last few minutes of the game. Racist accusations were made, screaming, yelling and just a lot of open jaws. The ref stormed off the field and called the game. It was quite interesting.
