July 2021

We had quite the busy July. First we went for a tour and the exhausting hike at Timpanogus Caves with our friends the Franks. Caves are fascinating. It's so fun how close this is to our home in SLC. Utah is full of wonders.
We definitely fit in some friend time.
Lexi went to her 1st girls camp. She was gone for 3 days and it was the first time I couldn't speak with her. I was worried but excited for her. She had a blast and i'm pretty sure has grown up over night. So happy for the opportunities she has had so far in her life. She is a great girl.
This cute boy got a climbing rope in his room. He loves it.
Our first Cowabunga Bay experience was a blast. Definitly not the scary slides that we like at 7 peaks but still a blast.
No summer is complete without a Bees game. We only got to 1 game, but it was a super fun game!
Tess was able to go to a summer intensive program for 3 days. She was the youngest by a few years and held her own. She had a blast and got her aerial. She was so excited.
We visited Kingston for fair week and had a great time. Got rained on several times, went dancing, water days and had some fun times with their cousins.
Went to parades
Our 3 oldest took 1st place in the races. Mav took 2nd. They won money and felt pretty special.
Found ways to take home their prizes.
Tried catching fish in the fish rodeo. Came home empty handed.
Picked veggies at Grandma Johnsons
Played with our new baby cousin Kingston
Stared at amazing baby goats
And YES caught 2 chickens in the chicken chase. Tess and Bodee couldn't have been more excited. They named them flappy and something else!
Poor Maverik stood in line for an hour for this fun and ended up being too skinny to do it. He handled it like a champ. He is such a good boy.
We went to the REAL soccer game for our first time and it was so much fun. We sat in general admission which was crazy loud but it was a blast. Can't wait to go again.
We have so enjoyed Bodee's new team at USA. He was too young to try out but was too good for the pre academy. So they put him on a comp team where there was openings. His team was a bit shaky at first but they have really started to make some progress. Bodee has always been on his A game and we sure love watching him.
This is just the start of a very fun and exciting 4th of July trip. We went to Don's house in Placerville, CA. They spoiled us completely rotton. Ribs, chicken, hamburgers, snacks galore. The works. Don is an incredible cook and really fed us well. I'm not sure what the highlight of the trip was. We just had such a nice, relaxing trip.
Having the boys play with these dogs made me want to get one for them. And then i'm reminded how much work they are and I change my mind.
We spent 2 days on their houseboat in the Sacramento River. Playing on the slide, riding the wave runners, going boating on the overly nice plontoon boat and just soaking up the sun!
The girls are always posing!
Oh ya I forgot to mention the fire baked pizzas. One of the best pizzas i've ever had.
Went to a little town where the big gold rush took place.
We call Tess our gatherer. No matter where we go she is collecting fruit, rocks, sticks, bugs, really anything she can find. Oddly enough she's our least pack rack and keeps her room immaculate.
Barb took the kids and I to get mani/pedi's.
We spend hours and hours at the pool. Maverik became an awesome swimmer/diver on this trip.
Playing all sorts of games.
This is a before and after of Bodee. He got bit by there dog. He has a cute little scar under his lip. Poor little guy. Apparently the dog didn't love Bodee as much as we thought he did.
Some fireworks with some neighbors by the docks. They were all so sweet and inviting. Great group of people.
Don had his woods set up with multiple targets. We had so much fun shooting. Bodee had so much fun he didn't want to stop and the mosquitos appreciated it.
It was a long ride to and from but definitely worth it.
